Requirements for Enrollment

  • Class A Learner's Permit: Before being allowed to operate the truck you will need to obtain your Commercial Learner's Permit from any California DMV Office. We do offer study guides and learning materials to help you prepare for your Written Test which consists of four components: General Knowledge, Air Brakes, Combination & Class C Car Knowledge. You may also add endorsements (Hazmat, Doubles/Triples & Tankers)
  • Good Driving Record: You will need to obtain a Driver Record Printout from the DMV to show that you are not a dangerous driver (Ticket & Accident History)
  • Current Medical Examination: You will need to provide the school with a complete copy of your Medical Examination, which the DMV also requires before issuing a Commercial Learner's Permit.
  • D.O.T. Drug Test: Before being allowed to operate a Commercial Motor Vehicle on the road, you must first pass A D.O.T. Regulated Drug Test.
  • Willing to Learn Mentality: Possibly the most important factor, a positive willing to learn and can do attitude will be the deciding factor in how long it will take you to master all components of our program.

Our course is designed to meet all federal and state requirements to get people their Class A or CDL in the shortest  and simplest way possible. While inspections skills and road driving are done at our school, our ELDT theory course is available for students to do online so they can either do it at school or from the convenience of their own home!

PRE-TRIP INSPECTION

The first and one of the most important things you learn is the Walk Around, Air Brake &

 In-Cab Inspection. There are a lot of components you will be familiarizing yourself with, and you will learn how to start in one section and flow smoothly to the next.

BACKING SKILLS

The different skills that you will learn at our school are Straight Line Backing, Offset Backing, Alley Docking & Parallel Parking. Although they may seem intimidating and complicated at first, with some knowledge and practice you will quickly learn how to control a Truck-Trailer!

ON THE ROAD DRIVING

One of the last things you will need to master is driving on the road, you will be taught various techniques to control & maneuver a Semi-Truck on the road. You will learn safety and how to deal with emergency situations and/or breakdowns.

Flexible Schedule

We realize that not everyone is able to attend Monday - Friday 8 AM - 5 PM, so we have a range of flexible schedules to accommodate our students.

Experienced Staff

Our instructors have a minimum of 15 years of Commercial Vehicle Experience, so any questions you may have can easily be answered and explained in a simple manner.

Safety-Oriented

One thing that we can not emphasize enough is how important safety is in regards to driving a Commercial Vehicle, as in the wrong hands it is a weapon, so it must be treated with respect.
